A Day Out with Thomas

We spent our Memorial Day with Georgia and Kevin for a "Day out with Thomas." I think it was Oliver's dream come true. In fact, on Tuesday I had to take something to Tyler in Park City and he was sure we were going to see Thomas again. Luckily there was a "tractor" for him to watch so he wasn't terribly disappointed.

Is he cute or what?!

The man of the day.

No that isn't an extra tattoo on Savannah's face.
It's another scooter injury. She didn't want to break
another arm... so she did a face plant on the sidewalk. Ouch!

Oliver was TERRIFIED of Sir Topham Hat.
Savannah and Emmaline were kind enough to oblidge.
What sweet sisters!

The whole funny family!

Summer Plans

I have been properly chastised for not posting! It would help a lot if y'all would post comments... hint, hint. The end of the school year has me thoroughly exhausted between competition soccer try-outs, end of year parties, talent shows... the list goes on. And I find myself in a real dilemma. When I used to work, I looked forward to the summer so much. I loved having that extra time to spend with my kids and kind of catch up on things I put off for the rest of the year. This year I am kind of dreading it. I don't know if it is the thought of a constant messy house as the kids run in and out or the stress of making sure I keep everyone properly entertained. So what are your ideas for summer. How do you make the most of it... keeping it stress-free?

"That's My Baby!" a tribute to Mama

On Friday I took Savannah to an orientation for her new school. Even though this was all her idea, she was so nervous. After sitting and listening to the principal for 30 minutes, I thought her nose was going to be raw, she had rubbed it so many times (a new nervous tick, apparently). Afterwards, the returning students took the new students on a tour. Savannah looked at me with a terrified look, but I encouraged her to go. During the closing ceremony, she ran up and said, "I made 3 new friends. That has to be a record for me before school even started!" I was so proud! Moving has not been the best experience for her, but she won't let her own fears interfere with what she really wants.

It reminded me of the time I won the "Louisiana Award" at the Regional Social Studies Fair in Alexandria. When they called my name and I ran to receive my award, Mama yelled, "That's my baby!" That was the BEST feeling to have her proud of me. I thought there was nothing she couldn't do and I wanted to be the best for her. I think of Mama a lot when I think of my choices. I know she is very aware of us all and I hope as she looks down on me and my life this Mother's Day, she says to Grandmother and Paw-Paw and Aunt Teency, "That's my baby!"

Tyler's Paintings

Tyler is finally being able to spend some time doing some fine art paintings. Here is a sampling of some of his latest works. He has already sold 4, so we are pretty excited. This is what he has always wanted to do instead of the decorative finishing. Let us know what you think.
