Why I haven't blogged in a while...

One day Emmaline came home from school and said she needed a new tutu for, of course, the next day. She had made the mistake of wearing her only tutu that day, and all of her friends were wearing their tutus the next day to celebrate another friend's birthday. It seemed like such an easy chore until I realized there were about 60 yards of tulle to gather. (Darn the internet and its cute ideas!)

After about an hour, I realized there was NO way I could finish. I tried to explain it to Emmaline, but she just replied, "Well, I guess you have to get creative." She wouldn't even let me fail! I was able to finish the top half of the skirt (it has 2 layers). Ever since then, it's been stop and go and I just can't finish it!! It is definitely my Mount Everest. Who'd have thunk? The picture looked so easy. I should have just made another simple one like the one she already had. Word to the wise... these skirts are worth every cent of the $80 they cost on etsy.

UPDATE: It's done! Nothing like blogging to make me finish up a project!!

My favorite part of Parent-Teacher Conference...

finding out that Oliver has begun signing all of his schoolwork as "Mr. Oliver." That kid just cracks me up.

Quote of the day

On the way to his martial arts class, Oliver asks, "Mama, did you know that knowledge is power?"

Me: "Yes I did know that. What does that mean?"

Oliver: "I guess it means that if we didn't have knowledge, we'd all be mold."

Best definition ever!
