Over the Rainbow

This was Savannah's latest "mini-recital" at school. Just a little background... I'm not sure what the purpose of the performance was, other than to give the kids experience in being on "stage" before their big Gala in May and to see who would be interested and suitable to put on an act. Anyway... they announced last Monday that tryouts would be last Wednesday. Savannah did a little bit of practice Tuesday night and tried out Wednesday, found out she made it on Friday and didn't practice again until this Tuesday night when she also announced that she wouldn't be singing with the CD (as we had practiced and she had tried out)... but she was staying after school on Wednesday before the recital to practice with other students who would be playing the piano and the bass. Hmmmm..... remember, the oldest any of these kids can be is 8th grade. Anyway, I think she did great. I'm happy that she just got up and did it (she tends to be shy about this sort of thing) and I think she learned a lot and I learned that I need to spend some more time teaching my kids to sing ;).

So without further ado... here is Savannah singing "Over the Rainbow"...

Congratulations to Savannah. It's not easy performing like that in front of people. She did a really good job!

Best wishes on the birth, Charlotte.

She's sounds great! (And so does that pianist!) She's lucky she got your soprano voice. I couldn't hear the bass player, which was probably good. When Gail told me someone was going to accompany her on the bass guitar, I had these visions of a rock version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow!
