Labor Day Weekend

Sometimes I feel like, with every holiday that Tyler's home, we fall into this frantic dash of trying to do as many things as possible- saving up every memory for the day when he'll be gone again. This was definitely true over Labor Day weekend. And now that I've found the cord for my camera, I can write about it! =)

On Friday, we visited the aquarium. My neighbor gave us tickets to visit as a Mother's Day gift. It's been so hard to find a day that we could all go together, but we made it! After visiting the aquarium in Chicago and even the one in Albuquerque, this was a bit disappointing to me, but the kids thought it was a lot of fun. I think they call it a "preview." Someday they hope to build a "real' one.

Had to get a stretched penny. My kids have a collection of those. Did you know they have machines to make them all over the world? Kind of fun.

Random shot of the boys. Love Tucker's smile.

There is a little play area for kids to pretend they are swimming among the coral. Somehow it turned into a game of hide and seek with all the kids at the museum running around shrieking, as Tyler snuck around grabbing them from the holes on the side.

On Saturday, we went to the Greek Festival. I didn't take any pictures, but it was a lot of fun. The lines were impossible, but the food was amazing! Totally worth the wait.

On Monday, we went to the Soldier Hollow Sheepdog Festival.

We haven't ever seen the Splash Dogs, so that was a lot of fun. The kids also really enjoyed seeing Malley Lewis (the daughter of Sherry Lewis) and Lamb Chop. After wards, Tyler decided we would take the "long" way home. With the GPS, I'm much more willing to try some of the dirt roads he loves to explore since I know we can usually find our way out. And what would a ride in the mountains be without.... hide and seek!

It was chilly up there. Glad we brought jackets.

Every time I found Emmaline, she wanted me to come with her to see something she had discovered. This was an amazing ant hill.
At the end, we couldn't find Savannah and Tucker anywhere! They definitely won the prize for this spot.

Usually we can find Tucker by calling his name- he always answers with "What?" But this time he kept quiet. It was a great way to end a wonderful weekend.

Great memories. Thanks for sharing. Umm would that be "Sherry Lewis" she was a puppeteer a long time ago and she had a puppet "Lambchop". Just wondering.

Yes- it is Sherry Lewis! A couple of years ago, the girls discovered "Lambchop." I guess her daughters have continued the tradition and Malley married a Mormon- so that is her connection to the Sheepdog Festival.
