There is a local co-op printmaking studio that sponsored a "Steam Rolling" event. We went to the studio in the morning to carve a matrix. Tyler and Emmaline designed their own, the rest of us just helped cut it out.
and used the steam roller to make a print.
Here is Emmaline's final result (Tyler will blog about his own... hint, hint.)
And then what happened? We said goodbye to Caroline. We had so much fun with her visiting. After she was gone about an hour, Emmaline said, "It's just so LONELY without Caroline."
And then what happened? It was time to take the kids to soccer. I dropped them off, fed the baby, and found that I had about 20 minutes to kill. My car needed a desperate cleaning, so I headed to the car wash. I was in a hurry, as usual, and was tilting my seat forward on it's hinges to vacuum under it.
Then what happened? I lost my grip and dropped the seat on my foot. You know how Mama used to say, "The hurrieder I go, the behinder I get." I couldn't agree more. Instead of spending a few more careful minutes... I'm spending 10 days recovering! As you can imagine, blood spurted everywhere. Luckily it went to sleep immediately (I hit a nerve) and I guess I went into a bit of shock. I wrapped it up in baby wipes, wiped up all the blood, drove by the soccer field to pick up the girls, and met Tyler at the InstaCare. I have some stitches inside and out, but it isn't broken. Now I just have to get over feeling so stupid when I have to explain why I'm wearing one of those stupid boots until my foot isn't so swollen and I can bend it!

Oooo that sounds gross. Hope it will feel better soon- guess it was a good thing that you hit a nerve.
That inking thing is awesome- looks like a fun day.
ouch.
Yikes! That sounds so painful! I never hurt myself in really cool ways either, like skiing. It's more like falling off a bus, etc.
The steam roll thing is so cool. I'll bet they turned out amazing.
oh seriously, ouch! daddy told neal you had hurt your foot pretty bad but didn't tell him how. that sounds terrible!
Charlotte I am so sorry! I saw the wheelchair blog first and I just figured it was that injury from running that you have been dealing with for a while. This just pains me to hear. Hopefully you are being pampered through this. Except for the wonderful, but scary trips like Lagoon. Funny
