Here's just a smidgen of what I've been up to lately.
The Thursday before Easter, Tyler called and said he really needed my help to finish a mural he was working on in San Fransisco. I didn't know how I could swing it, but he made the phone calls for me (THANK YOU Alyssa and Micah) and I was off. I kept thinking there was no way I could go, even up to an hour before my plane left, since I didn't even have Easter dresses for the girls... but I arrived in Oakland at about 5 pm. We frantically worked on the mural for the next couple of days, but we weren't able to make it to our flight Saturday night. This was a problem because, not only was it Easter Sunday (Easter bunny, Easter dinner, Easter eggs... you get the idea), but our church started at 1 pm and I was supposed to lead the Primary in a special musical number (Savannah was also supposed to do a solo). We were going to arrive in Salt Lake at 11 am. We knew it would be tight, but thought we could make it.
Fast forward to our landing in Salt Lake... Tyler stayed to get our bags while I rushed to get the car. When I got to the car, I couldn't get it to open with the automatic key thing. It was then that I remembered that Oliver had turned on the interior light before we left... the battery was dead. I rushed back to Tyler who called Jaim to pick us up. Luckily Jaim had two cars, so I took one while he and Tyler went to get jumper cables and pick up the kids. I made it just in time for church and Tyler hurried and got the kids ready (in 10 minutes) and met me at church. That afternoon we went to Georgia's house to see everyone and dye a few eggs.
The next day was spent with Tyler making a hurried sample to send for his next job in New York while I did a million loads of laundry and got us ready to go back to San Fransisco (it was the kids Spring Break). We left early Tuesday morning and spent the night with Tyler's parents in Fallon. The next day we went on to San Fransico to stay with Brad, Kendal and Isabel. Thursday we spent the day at Six Flags. You might wonder if we took pictures... I was too frazzled to remember a camera. The next couple of days Tyler spent working again on the mural. He was not able to finish it, and I had to drive back home by myself. Sunday night, they decided they needed to start the project over, so he got some guys started, and he had to fly directly to New York for his next job.
Anybody got something that can top that? I didn't think so! =) We are really hoping that May is a terribly boring month. And right now we are praying, as Emmaline so appropriately put it in her prayer tonight that "we will be comforted even though our Dad is really far away."
