Living without Regret

I'm sorry I've been such a slacking blogger. I really enjoy reading all the other blogs out there and need to make a better effort!
On Monday night, for Family Home Evening, we did our lesson on the story in the Friend, "Live without Regret." It was written by President Hinkley's son who remembers his father often saying, in family prayer, "Heavenly Father, please bless us that we may live without regret." I loved that thought because I remember Mama telling me (in the one conversation we had about death) "I have lived my life without regrets."
Little did we know the horror taking place just 2 miles from our house as we had Family Home Evening. An 18 year old boy entered Trolley Square Mall and killed 5 people and injured 4 others before he was killed by an off-duty police officer.
Tyler made the comment that it wouldn't take many of these incidents before the way we live was really affected. I have thought a lot about that because I think our world will continue to increase in violence. Emmaline has been very concerned about it and asked me several times what we would have done, had we been there, and what would have happened to us. I think I know the answer to that. We have to live our lives without regret.

What a great sentiment. Really, when it comes down to it, that's all you have.
