We went to the rodeo!

On Thursday, our photographer friend from the Deseret News invited us to go to the Days of '47 Rodeo with him. I think I haven't been to the rodeo since I was in Kansas 17 years ago. We had so much fun! Oliver, who usually can't sit through anything, was entranced. The girls' favorite part was the barrel racing. The only bad part was during the bull riding when a guy got kicked in the head and went into immediate convulsions. He did walk out of the arena, though. One event I had never witnessed was a contest where one guy roped a cow and his friend ran over to milk it into a little cup and had to be first with the cup to the judges.

wow that milking event sounds very tricky. how fun! where do they hold that rodeo? are most of the competitors from the west (montana, wyoming kind of places) or are there southerners too?

Most were from the west, although we had some "world famous" competitors from Texas and even Louisiana!
