Growing Up Too Fast?

My girls always ask me when they get to do things like shave their legs, babysit, get their ears pierced, etc. and I always stick with the rules I grew up with. Well, the ones Mama said we had to stick by, but she was such a softie when disaster struck.... like a REALLY bad haircut, huh Georgia?!

Anyway, I've told them they could start wearing a bra when everyone else in their class does. I remember I knew I didn't need a bra, so I was too embaressed to ask Mama for one until Georgia finally asked, "Isn't everyone else in your class wearing a bra?" Well today we were at the "Dollar Tree" picking up little junk for Emmaline's "favor bags" for her birthday when what do we see, but little miniature bras for sale. They decided they wanted those more than anything and I decided it really wouldn't do any harm. They quickly jumped to the back seat and started helping each other adjust them. After getting it all fixed, Emmaline yells, "I feel like I'm tied to a tree!" She knows just how to describe things. Remember the comment when she was 3? "I feel bad. Kinda like mustard." Welcome to the world of womanhood. Eight's not too young, right? YIKES!

that's so funny, i'm dreading my kids growing up and being teenagers! they're so lucky to have each other when it comes to things like that. they'll love having a sister even more the older they get, you know how it goes. :)
